Pretzel

Untwist your emotions.

Untwist your emotional pain with neuroscience. Pretzel is a small daily practice for the moments your mind twists itself up — notice where it went, remember who you are, and come back to the present. Created by psychotherapist Yisroel Roll.

The method

Where is your mind right now?

Pretzel is built on one simple observation about the mind — and one repeatable way back.

The only place you can actually make a decision is right now. The past is memory, the future is prediction. Pretzel calls the present your Bandwidth — the zone of choice — and most of us spend the day sliding out of it without noticing.

That's not weakness — it's wiring. Every time a trigger has sent you down the anxiety run or the depression run, that groove got a little deeper, and the brain follows the tracks that are already there.

Pretzel doesn't try to fix your circumstances or argue with your feelings. It gives you an anchor: three character strengths you genuinely own, written as your Identity Statement.

"I am grounded, persistent, and dependable."

When the mind spirals, the question is never "what am I feeling?" — it's "who am I choosing to be right now?" Every return to your Bandwidth is a rep that lays down a new track — until coming back is something you can do at will.

1

Notice the trigger

Something happens — a message, a memory, a look — and your mind leaves the present. Tap where it went: future or past.

2

Return to your Bandwidth

A short guided return: breathe, feel your feet, name what happened, and remember the person you have decided to be.

3

Act from your Identity Statement

Choose one small action that expresses your strengths — then move on with your day. That's the rep that untwists.

The founder & the books

Created by psychotherapist Yisroel Roll

Pretzel is the practice behind Yisroel Roll's books. The app distills the Bandwidth, the Identity Statement and the return into something you can do in a hallway — and Pretzel Pro brings the books' deeper work along with it.

Yisroel Roll is a psychotherapist and author whose work centers on one idea: you are not your feelings — you are the person choosing what to do with them.

Pretzel: Untwist Your Emotional Pain with Neuroscience

The book the app is built on — anxiety, depression, the Bandwidth, and the way back.
